Passion's Tree Of Life Foundation
Global Institute
Passion Tree House, LLC (PTH), our retail division, contributes to all of our own charitable foundations. Our Passion's Tree Of Life Foundation for independent 501c3 animal welfare organizations is our primary foundation. We have other divisions that are attached to our PTL Foundation.
One such division is:
The Global Institute for the Standardization & Accreditation of Animal Rescues, Sanctuaries and Shelters While almost any certified 501c3 animal welfare organization may be accepted in our PTL Fndtn. membership, as long as they remain in good standing with our policies, members of the G.I. have many more qualifications they must maintain in order to remain a certified G.I. member.
First of all, in order to become a member in our G.I., certified independent 501c3 animal welfare organizations must be
INVITED into our elite and exclusive program.
The members of our G.I. are those who have already displayed uncommon excellance in our PTL Foundation through active participation, on a regular basis, by contributing articles for our monthly BD! Squawker, monthly updates on their organization for our customers to keep apprised of their good deeds in their local communities as well as the overall animal welfare community, and also by offering their services to the animal community in ways of securing refuge for abandoned animals, providing veterinary care for animals who would otherwise go without proper care, feeding animals who would not otherwise be fed properly, educating the public on proper animal husbandry, etc., etc. all the while maintaining clean facilities with areas with separate areas for sick and diseased animals as well as holding areas until an animal has been tested and cleared for any disease before placing that animal with the overall population. G.I. members must be in good standing with all of their local government agencies, including, but not limited to health, licensing, and tax agencies. There are many, many more requirements G.I. members must adhere to in addition to the policies we have listed here.
As members in our G.I., they are eligible for annual grants. PTH, through PTL Foundation, will award at least one grant every year beginning in 2008 to the member, or members, who display the highest integrity within our organization and the entire animal welfare community. These grants are derived from the sale of our own products and donations by our customers.
(Donations are not tax deductible because PTL Foundation and the G.I. are not 501c3 organizations on their own accord.) Our charitable divisions are mainly funded by our retail division, Passion Tree House, LLC and therefore does not require 501c3 certification at this point in time. Because we are not a 501c3 organization, we are allowed to vote in legislation that can change the way animals are bred, cared for, sold and euthanized in our country. We believe by maintaining a non-501c3 status, we can affect a more positive change overall for all animals. Knowing that we are backed by our certified 501c3 members, we have a much larger voice in which to voice our opinion, the shared opinion of our members, in any legislation or lobbying initiative. That's why your donations to PTL Fndtn. or the G.I. are NOT tax-deductible.
(However, your donations to our 501c3 members ARE tax-deductible if you wish to make a contribution, but you also desire a tax deduction for your contribution. The receipts for those deductions are supplied by the PTL Fndtn independent 501c3 member you donate to, the receipts are not supplied by PTH or PTL Fndtn.) Please think about donating to our G.I. fund today, even though the donations are not tax-deductible. Your donation will help build the annual grants that we award to our G.I. members. These members are, in our opinion, the "cream-of-the-crop" in animal welfare and deserve the best part of support from the animal-loving general public.
We have provided an option on the checkout page of our online store to make your G.I. contribution.
Please do so today!
