Partial Explanation of Reports

To the layperson, these reports may be difficult to interpret. However, let us point out a couple of very obvious points made by the reports themselves.

First of all, the initial testing of our product, BirD-elicious! food was found to be low in dietary calcium. This inadequacy was soon addressed as the result of the lab findings. At that time we were not using any added calcium whatsoever. What was present in the mix at the time of the testing came strictly from the whole-food ingredients. Since that time PTH has added marine coral calcium, a very absorbable from of natural calcium, not laboratory produced.

In addition, please note the iron level in our food. The PhD who was working with us on this particular test, Dr. Howard Frederick, an adjunct professor at The University of Arizona Veterinary Lab, told us the perfect iron content percent for avian nutrition is between 45.0 to 47.0. Note, PTH food was reported at 46.2. He told us our food tested with the most perfect level of iron he has ever witnessed in all of the testing he has seen. He noted that one avian foods producer commonly tests out at 92.0! Iron storage disease and liver disease in the making.

PTH is not finished testing by a long shot. Laboratory testing is an entry in our budget that will be ongoing as long as we are producing foods. We will always strive for perfection, accepting only our best shot at producing the most naturally nutritional pet foods as we humanly can.

Our research will be ongoing, our development will be ongoing. We believe it is time to take the synthetics out of pet foods, as well as human foods, and get back to the basics of the whole-food nutrition living creatures were originally designed to consume for optimum health. Period.

As you can see we do not withhold any information from the public. Most producers will not disclose this information. At best they will provide it sometimes when it is asked for.

As promised, BirD-elicious! is committed to bringing you the latest scientific findings on our products. The most recent findings are dated 7/8/04 and contain the following information:

Analysis on the BirD-elicious! Basic. Other formulas will vary but contain many of the same beneficial qualities. In other words, the quality only increases in the species-specific diets.

We are using plenty of "greens", many contain trace amounts of vitamin D. But remember, no form of dietary vitamin D is as good as a small amount of natural sunlight- "unbufferd" (no glass or screen between bird and light). If you bird does not receive natural sunlight, researh full spectrum (UVA & UVB) lighting and choose lighting that works well with your bird's environment and room size.

Please try to remember, our foods will NOT test out like other foods, especially pelleted foods. We purposely want our foods higher in fat, good fat in the form of omegas. We want our foods a little higher in protein, it is needed for both energy and feather growth. We are pleased that the fiber came in as low as it did. It is still higher than pelleted foods, but look at the consistency of our foods. You cannot get much more natural than ours unless you feed totally fresh. And if you did, fresh food fiber content would be high too.

Why do our foods seem so high-cost? Because we will use ONLY the FINEST ingredients we can obtain!

And you don't have to ONLY take our word for it!
